Legends of the Engine Compartment

Part 3

August 25, 2002

Yet further inspired by the DACC Homecoming on Saturday (as I fully expected to be), yesterday I put in a fair amount of time on the Vair. Step one was to clean up the garage, which was becoming a bit too disorderly. After that went to work on reassembling the taillights and cove trim. I am still two lenses shy on taillights, but the car looks much better with that stuff on it. I also reassembled the license plate lamp, got the latch lined up again after its return from powdercoating, took the hood rod assembly out, disassembled and cleaned it, sprayed truck bed liner stuff up on the wheel wells, and reinstalled the body to shroud seal. I had had the cover for my voltage regulator powdercoated, and bought a new cheapee one from Clarks. Drilled the rivets out of that and installed the Delco cover on the new solid state regulator.

Other than that, didn't do a doggone thing.
