Part 4: Autocross, Horses, and Home

Although the Autocross was on Friday, I had decided not to participate.  Between the need to get home, the need to do some visiting with some horses, and my ill-running carbs, I decided that the Autocross did not sound like much fun.  I spent the morning strapping the car to the trailer.  By the time I got done, you could have flipped the trailer over and shaken it and the car would not have fallen off.

That done, we went down to watch the autocrossers run.  Below, Robert Lander's beautiful '67 Stinger navigates the course.

While watching we ran into Virtual Vairs member Terry Kalp.  In addition to wearing many other hats, Terry has experience as a professional photographer and he snapped this very nice shot of our family:

Too soon, we had to leave.  On our way out of town we stopped at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Allison loves horses and was in heaven.  This black beauty was her favorite horse there:

Despite warm temperatures, we enjoyed the park.  The kids really enjoyed watching a group of riders practicing jumping.

Finally, it was time to head home.  After a long drive we arrived in DeWitt about midnight.  I don't think we can afford to take the time to drive to Oregon next year, but based upon the wonderful job the folks in Lexington did it should be no problem to convince the family to come along to Buffalo in '06.
